.: PIPING SYSTEM DESIGN :.
We design piping systems based on ASME B31.1 and B31.3 requirements, and good engineering practices, so that the system performs as expected, with minimum maintenance, and has high reliability.
Piping systems are designed with the intent that piping stresses and piping loads on connected equipment are below their respective allowable values. ASME B31.1 Power Piping and ASME B31.3 Process Piping codes provide guidance to help achieve safe designs. It is then the responsibility of the design engineer to complete the piping design so that it is economical to construct, has low maintenance, and has high reliability. PEC excels in this area of piping design. Our experience troubleshooting and correcting design mistakes that other engineering firms have made allows us design systems that function as intended, and have been optimized for constructability and reliability.
Piping stress analysis is used in many cases to design a system that has adequate flexibility, and to specify spring supports and rigid restraints. Complete piping system design includes design and specification of supports, restraints, valve selection, specification of specialty items such as expansion joints, orifice plates, pressure safety valves, etc, and bills of materials. Piping designs will be provided to the level of detail requested; from full designs, to piping layout and stress analysis only.
